  • David L. Treadwell, Executive Chairman

    David L. Treadwell

    Founder and Chairman

    David Treadwell is a founding member of Grow Michigan, LLC and serves as the group’s Chairman.

    He also serves on the following boards as a Director:

    • C&D Technologies, Inc. – a producer and marketer of electrical power storage and conversion products;  Chairman of the Board
    • Visteon Corporation – an $8 billion revenue global Tier 1 automotive supplier of electronic components, climate control systems and interior components.
    • Flagstar Bank – a $14 billion asset Michigan-based bank
    • FairPoint Communications, Inc. – a $1.2 billion revenue telecommunication company
    • Revere Industries, LLC –  a Midwest-based manufacturing company; Chairman of the Board of Directors

    Mr. Treadwell formerly served as President and CEO of EaglePicher Corporation (2005-2011) and as President and CEO of Oxford Automotive (2004-2005) during the restructuring and sale of the companies.

    Mr. Treadwell received his B.A. from the University of Michigan.

    Mr. O’Keefe is recognized as an expert in the fields of strategic advisory services, corporate reorganization, debt restructuring, turnaround consulting, refinancing solutions, due diligence support, valuation and litigation support.  Mr. O’Keefe has been approved by the U.S. Department of Justice to act as a Chapter 11 trustee and has performed as a court appointed receiver for numerous operating companies. For over 30 years, Mr. O’Keefe has been active as a financial consultant and turnaround advisor to under-performing businesses in various industries including, retail, construction, automotive, manufacturing, and real estate, and has successfully completed assignments in out-of-court and Chapter 11 restructurings. He is an advisor to financial institutions in complex workouts and asset recovery strategies.

    Mr. O’Keefe is qualified in the area of litigation support services and has been accepted as an expert in federal and state court matters involving lost profits, valuation and economic damages. He is one of a handful of experts recognized by the Institute of Business Appraisers as a business valuator accredited in litigation. Prior to forming O’Keefe & Associates, Mr. O’Keefe was a former partner at Deloitte & Touche where he was in charge of the Detroit offices Middle Market department. Subsequent to Deloitte & Touche, he was a Chief Financial Officer of a residential development company in Michigan and was a partner in a turnaround consulting firm.

    Mr. O’Keefe is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA), and Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA).

    Mr. O’Keefe currently serves as the President of the Detroit Athletic Club and is a past President of the Detroit Chapter of the TMA. He is a member emeritus for the Michigan State University’s Department of Accounting and Information Systems, as well as a past advisory board member of the University of Detroit Turnaround Management Program, Cleary University, and Oakland University’s Finance and Accounting Department. Mr. O’Keefe is a frequent guest lecturer and writer. He has been quoted in publications and has appeared on television and radio stations to discuss issues on automotive, real estate and retail industries. Mr. O’Keefe was honored with the Leadership Achievement Award and was also named one of the top 100 restructuring and turnaround professionals by the Global M&A Network in 2016. He has received the Outstanding Individual Contribution Award by the TMA, the Cleary Business Medal of Honor as an outstanding businessman, and the Small Business Administration’s Financial Services Champion of the Year Award presented by former Governor Jennifer Granholm. Irish America recognized Mr. O’Keefe as one of the top 100 businessmen in 2013 and 2016. Under his direction, his firm has been recognized by the M&A Advisor as Accounting/Due Diligence Firm of the Year, the M&A Global Network as Boutique Turnaround Consulting Firm of the Year, and was awarded Turnaround of the Year-Middle Market by the M&A Advisor and Turnaround Management Association. In 2016 the firm was awarded Real Estate Deal of the Year, Restructuring Deal of the Year, Community Revival Restructuring of the Year, and Chapter 11 Restructuring Deal of the Year.

  • Henry J. Brennan, III

    Founder

    Mr. Brennan is a founding member of Grow Michigan, LLC. He is a partner with Howard & Howard, PLLC and provides legal counsel to Grow Michigan, LLC. He concentrates his practice in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and real estate.

    Mr. Brennan is AV Rated by Martindale Hubble (its highest rating based on peer review), he has also been consistently designated as a Top Lawyer by DBusiness and a Michigan Super Lawyer.

    Brennan in addition has been a founder and equity partner in several business ventures, including A3 Integration, TradeLogix and FreightVerify. Mr. Brennan serves on several corporate boards and advisory committees, in addition to being involved with several civic and philanthropic organizations.

    He received a B.A. in Economics and English from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.

  • Richard L. Baird

    Board Member

    Richard L. Baird is the CEO of MI Partners, LLC, a Michigan based company specializing in public policy consulting and organizational effectiveness consulting. Since January, 2011, he has been under exclusive contract to the Michigan Office of the Governor, working with Governor Rick Snyder and his leadership team on the strategies and implementation plan to reinvent and transform Michigan.  He was appointed to the Board of the Great Lakes Protection Fund in March of 2011 and named to the board of directors of Grow Michigan, LLC in September of 2012.

    In 2010, Mr. Baird retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP as Global and US Co-Leader, People and Change Management (PwC Advisory Services). From 2003 to 2008, he was Global Managing Partner – People, responsible for Human Resources and Learning and Education for PwC’s 150,000 partners and staff in 150 countries.

    Mr. Baird received his Bachelor of Arts from Albion College in Michigan, where he was a trustee for 12 years (serving as board Chairman for 5 years) and is now a lifetime Honorary Trustee. He also has an honorary PhD from Albion, and from Eastern Michigan University.

  • Douglas R. Luciani

    Mr. Doug Luciani is President and CEO of the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce, including its subsidiaries, the Traverse Bay Economic Development Corporation and the Traverse City Area Chamber Foundation.  He was appointed to the board of Grow Michigan, LLC in September of 2012.

    Luciani has 25 years of experience in labor relations, community and economic development and trade association leadership.  He began his professional career in Kansas City where he worked for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce in both transportation and environmental programs as well as in community and economic development.

    Mr. Luciani studied political science and English at Central Michigan University and holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts.

  • Mark E. Baker

    Mark E. Baker is the senior vice president and commercial banking group manager for PNC Bank-SE Michigan.  He has been associated with PNC for 9 years.  Prior to that, he worked for a privately-held company and was also on the Investment Review Board for the Michigan Pre-Seed Capital Fund.

    He was named to the board of Grow Michigan, LLC on October 28, 2013.

    Mr. Baker received a B.S. in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Michigan.  He resides in Northville, Michigan with his wife an son.

  • Martin F. Blake

    Mr. Blake serves as Executive Vice President, Marketing/Banks & Financial Organizations Manager for Crestmark Bank and has over 30 years of banking and financial management experience; his diverse experience includes capital markets, middle-market lending, wealth management and asset-based lending.  He is one of the founders of Crestmark and has been an integral part of the executive team since its inception in 1996.  He currently oversees all marketing and assists with traditional bank/financial organization relationships.  Prior to Crestmark, Mr. Blake worked at Michigan National Bank where he developed/managed a highly successful private banking/wealth management group.  He also held a number of key positions during his 13 year tenure.

    Mr. Blake earned both a bachelor’s degree in construction management and an MBA in finance from Michigan State University.  He is a current member and has served on the board of the local chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, Commercial Finance Association, and Macomb/Oakland University Business Incubator.

  • Todd C. Clark

    Mr. Clark serves as Michigan’s Region CEO for Old National Bank and has over 24 years of experience in the financial services industry. He currently oversees all lending and retail service activities in Michigan, including its 34 bank branch network. He also serves on Old National Bank’s Executive Leadership Group.

    Old National Bank acquired United Bank & Trust in 2014. Mr. Clark served as United’s President at the time of acquisition. United Bank & Trust, a subsidiary of United Bancorp, Inc., was an independent, community-based, financial services company headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI with assets of $919 million. Mr. Clark was responsible for all Lending and Retail Services, Wealth Management, Mortgage, Structured Finance, Operations and Technology. He joined United Bank & Trust in 2000. Prior to Old National/United Bank & Trust, Mr. Clark worked at NBD Bank and National City in commercial lending, holding number of key positions dating back to 1992. Mr. Clark earned a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan – School of Business Administration in 1992. He is a 2004 graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University.

    Mr. Clark is a member of the Washtenaw County Economic Development Coordination Committee. He is member of the St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea Hospital Board of Trustees (Board Chair 2012-2015). Mr. Clark serves on the United Way of Washtenaw County Board of Directors (Board Chair 2014 & 2015). Mr. Clark serves on the Business Development Committee and CEO Roundtable of Ann Arbor SPARK.

    Mr. Clark and his wife, Colleen, have three daughters, Rachel, Rebecca and Rose.
